Business Continuity Plan for COVID-19

Updated March 16, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to grow with each day, and we want to update you with our Business Continuity Plan in light of COVID-19 concerns. Please know that we remain open but have encouraged our staff to work from home as much as possible over the next few weeks to help limit the potential community spread of the COVID-19 virus.

We continue to focus on meeting your tax reporting and accounting needs and can receive documents electronically through a secure file transfer program. To help expedite the process and safeguard yourselves and our staff, we would prefer clients use this option instead of dropping off or mailing paper documents, if possible. With staff working from home, availability will be limited over the next few weeks for document drop off meetings. If you wish to provide your documents via the secure transfer, please e-mail Denise Hays at dhays@mhcscpa.com requesting additional details on the process.

We are also monitoring the proposals related to moving the tax filing deadlines that have been in the news recently. As of today, the deadlines to file have not changed but an announcement this week is likely from the IRS extending the April 15th deadline for most taxpayers while also waiving interest and penalties. We will be in contact once an official announcement is made.

Please reach out to your engagement team members if you have any questions for us and thank you for continuing to let us serve as your accounting and tax provider.
