Leadership Baton is Passed at MHCS

Robert R. McGowen, CPA and Managing Partner at McGowen, Hurst, Clark & Smith, P.C., a certified public accounting and business advisory firm, recently announced he would be transitioning out of his role as Managing Partner for the firm. McGowen joined the firm in 1970 and assumed the position of Managing Partner in 1993. Through his effective leadership, McGowen has been instrumental in growing the firm into one of the Midwest’s leading CPA and business advisory firms with more than 65 employees. “I feel both privileged and proud to have watched MHC&S grow over the past four-plus decades while serving the needs of our clients,” said McGowen. McGowen will continue as a Partner in the firm.

The firm is pleased to announce that David A. Farnsworth, CPA and Partner, and Daniel A. Schwarz, CPA/ABV and Partner, assumed the positions of Co-Managing Partners effective July 1, 2016.

Farnsworth, a graduate of Simpson College, joined the firm in 1999. His area of focus has centered on tax planning and consulting for entrepreneurs and their businesses. Schwarz, a graduate of Hawkeye Institute of Technology, joined the firm in 1990. His areas of expertise include business valuations, family held businesses and corporate finance. “I know MHC&S is in great hands with Dan and Dave continuing to lead MHC&S to new heights, serving our clients at the highest level and continuing to make our firm a great place to work,” said McGowen.
